Abstract
The autochtone Salvelinus alpinus of the lake of Neuchâtel disappeared in 1970. Reintroduction of this species was done in 1979 with 30 000 summerlings from the lake of Geneva. Until 1 982, 23 % of the introduced fishes were caught. As the major part of the individuals caught belonged to the the 2+ age class (immatures), the long term survival of the Salvelinus population in t he lake seems problematic.
