Locations with sequenced branchiobdellidans (B. astaci, B. balcanica, B. hexadonta, B. italica, B. kozarovi, B. parasita, and B. pentadonta). Areas of distribution for freshwater crayfish: Au. pallipes s.l., Au. torrentium, and A. astacus. A) Europe and B) South-eastern Europe. Crayfish distributions were taken from the IUCN Red List and adapted for this study: A. astacus (Edsman et al., 2010), Au. torrentium (Pârvulescu et al., 2025), and Au. pallipes (Füreder et al., 2010). Maps were produced using QGIS software v. 3.40 (QGIS, 2025).
